Buchart Gardens 2011:
We had the whole carousel all to ourselves. It was such a beautiful, peaceful place.

3 Years in 1 big day!
I have been ignoring the fact that Asher is steadily growing up, but there was no denying it on Saturday. He ran faster, jumped higher, talked more (if possible), and was more precocious. It was a transformation right before my eyes.
The Fraser's stopped by with cake, a balloon, and a birthday song to start the day off right. Thanks guys for making Asher's big day so special. He loved it!
A birthday helicopter and landing pad from Aunt Beck were just the ticket!

Papa adorned our tree with gracefully dangling Easter eggs. They are lovely. aren't they?
There is the culmination of a day's work buy the guys - Thank you! Asher and Veda are going to have a blast this summer in their little abode from Mimi & Papa.

Mt. Rose Cabin
Our Lake Cushman weekend was a sucess! We had such a wonderful time together. We could have used the sunshine that we had on Monday over the weekend, but we just put on our rain gear and got out there. The scenery was spectacular! It was also very quiet and peaceful to be there in the off-season - no cellular service, no internet, no television (except movies).
Asher loved, loved, loved hiking and we hope to get out there more often this summer. He was forever searching for the perfect hiking stick. Bode was in dog heaven with all the off-leash running reminicent of his younger days - of the benefits of being on the trail when nobody else is. I am dreaming of more family vacations to come!

Happy Birthday, Veda Darling!
I love going in first thing on birthday morning to get a pic, and Veda doesn't dissapoint. What a happy birthday girl!
The party was so fun and we enjoyed having so many friends share this special day with us. Thank you everyone!
Aunt Beck was enjoying an Italian getaway, but she let us borrow some fab decorations. Thanks, Auntie!
Babies rocked the house that day. We had 5 babes under the age of one and three toddlers to boot.

2 is company!
The kids are changing and growing up so much these days, they astound me. Veda is busy organzing the tupperware drawer and has discovered the play kitchen which provides much entertainment.
Asher is learning about personal grooming, including shaving, flossing, and mouthwash. He is so careful not to swallow any! He should pass his next dental appt. with flying colors.
It has been so great to see the kids start to play sided by side, at least, if not together yet.
Veda is pretty fiesty in the bathtub and we get quite a few action shots of her. Asher tries to keep her corralled away from special toys, or as he calls them, "choking hazards".
Saturday is laundry day and the kids are jumping right in to help Daddy.
Veda in all her cuteness...need I say more?

Deeelightful!
So March is almost here and that means Miss Vedababes is almost 1 year old. Did I just write that? Yup... 1 amazing year! We were in love at first sight, of course, but it has been delightful to watch her personality emerge and grow this past year.
Asher is growing up right before our eyes too. He has enjoyed going to preschool for the past couple of months and loves doing projects with Miss Gena every week. We are on the way to diaper free bliss with Asher as well. He is teaching us so much about the potty training process.
As a side note to those who didn't see my facebook post, I had my bag stollen when we skedattled to Seattle last week. Amazingly, I got it back after seeing the theif with it. He needed a little motivation from the Seattle Police to actually provide said wallet, but all in all, it worked out well. My key fob appears to be lost forever though and will be quite expensive to replace with all the keyless entry/ignition technology. Funny - the thing the thief apparently threw away or tossed in the sound was worth the most of all. It was the yellow timbuk2 bag that gave him away.
So the day was cut short after the crime hoopla, but the morning at the aquarium was wonderful. They were celebrating Octupus Week so there were special octopus exhibits and shows all week. Ivar the octopus in the tank was on the move...one of the coolest things I've ever seen at the aquarium. It is so strange that animals like these are roaming the earth. God has quite an imagination!
The aquarium was pretty crowded and Asher was so excited to see "Dori", the Blue Tang, in the tanks. He kept looking for her everywhere. He kept grabbing my hand, saying, "Come on Mom. Let's go find Dori." He was having such a wonderful time and was pretty upset that we didn't head back there after lunch. We've got to go again to see the outdoor exhibits next time. The seals and see otters are really fun.
